Gilead Power is pleased to announce the proposed Ostrander Point wind farm in Prince Edward County has been posted on the Ontario government’s Environmental Registry for public review and comment. The 60 day comment period will allow members of the public to review Gilead’s plan for the proposed 9-turbine, 22.5 megawatt (MW) facility.
The Ostrander Point project is located on the south shore of Prince Edward County. A 44 kV transmission line will be constructed from the project site to the provincial electricity grid at the Milford Distribution Station. When developed, this wind farm has the potential of providing power for approximately 5,600 homes per year.
Gilead is working with community organizations and targets construction for Q3 2012. There is one monitoring tower which has been collecting wind data since 2006 which will help determine final placement of the turbine layout. |
