| Lappe
The Lappe project is located in an area adjacent to an existing transmission line, which is a validated Ontario Power Interconnection. When developed this wind farm has the potential of providing power for approximately 18,500 homes per year.
Gilead is working with community organizations and targets the start of construction for 2014. There will be two monitoring towers collecting wind data which will help determine final placement of the turbine layout.
Project Overview
Land base: 1000 hectare on leased private land, in the geographic Township of Gorham in the District of Thunder Bay, north of the City of Thunder Bay, Ontario.

Land ownership: Private Land

Potential wind farm size: 74 MW

Wind Resource: Desk top wind monitoring data indicates an above average wind resource. The Wind Resource Assessment, to be completed by Helimax Energy Inc. will commence in 2009 and will provide information on capacity, long term projections and potential electricity generation.

Progress to date: Gilead is responding to the Provincial Policy Statement regarding long-term opportunities for the generation and use of renewable energy systems (Pp. 13-14, Sec. 1.7 & 1.8, Provincial Policy Statement, Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, March 2005) and potentially the Ontario Power Authority Feed-in-Tariff program for renewable energy generation. Environmental baseline monitoring was initiated in the summer and fall of 2008. First Nations and community engagement activities began in 2008 and will continue throughout the development of the project.

Transmission options: Interconnection Study will be completed for the Ontario Grid Transmission Line.
