PAUL PEDE - PRESIDENT  & CO-FOUNDER Email Paul Pede


As President since the Company's inception, Mr. Pede continues to be an integral force in the evolution of Gilead. He has served as a consultant on renewable energy issues, providing services for strategic planning, provincial/federal policy management, duediligence, resource management planning and program management. In prior achievements, Mr. Pede was a fundamental contributor to developing resource analysis and management tools for Hydro One Networks Inc. and facilitating First Nations participation in various renewable energy projects.

He has an innate ability in fostering partnerships with landowners, communities, municipalities and First Nations. As President, Mr. Pede is responsible for Gilead’s overall growth and value creation by identifying high potential locations for future renewable energy projects.  He actively participates in education forums and is a member in good standing with CANWEA. Mr. Pede holds B.Sc. from the University of Toronto and a B.A. from Bishops University.

MICHAEL J. LORD - VICE PRESIDENT Email Michale Lord
ORGANIZATIONAL PLANNING & OPERATIONS


With over 20 years of experience in environmental and engineering consulting, Mr. Lord has coordinated multi-disciplined teams of engineers, scientists and planners to complete over 300 projects within the public and private sectors.  In the role of Vice President of Organizational Planning and Operations, Mr. Lord is a member of the Gilead executive team and is responsible for ensuring that cost effective processess and infrastructure are in place to support all staff.

Mr. Lord works closely with the President, Board of Directors and staff to set goals, monitor work and evaluate results to ensure that organizational objectives and operating requirements are achieved in accordance with the vision and mission of the Company. Overseeing an internal and external team of engineers, environmental practitioners, wind resource specialists and project managers, Mr. Lord is responsible for all aspects of project development including: resource assessment, environmental assessment, interconnection studies, preliminary engineering, project planning and cost estimating.  

Mr. Lord earned a degree from McMaster University and Post Graduate Diplomas from Fleming College and IMD International.

MAUREEN (MARNIE) DAWSON Email Maureen Dawson
MANAGER of ENVIRONMENTAL PLANNING & STAKEHOLDER RELATIONS

Ms. Dawson joined Gilead from an environmental consulting firm, where she was a Project Manager and Team Leader of the Environmental Planning and Permitting Group. Her in-depth knowledge of the environmental planning and permitting process make her a vital part of the Gilead Team. Ms. Dawson has a proven track record of moving wind power projects through the environmental assessment process. Her knowledge of the environmental planning and permitting process strengthens our project development structure to take the Company forward.

Ms. Dawson is responsible for all aspects of the environmental stages of a project, inclusive of: managing environmental consultants, identifying environmental issues, environmental baseline monitoring, managing the progress of all environmental assessment studies and acquiring all necessary environmental permits. In addition, Ms. Dawson supports and coordinates Gilead's relations with all Stakeholders to facilitate the development of renewable energy projects. Ms. Dawson holds a degree in Environmental Studies from Wilfred Laurier University.

KEVIN SORENSEN Email Kevin Sorenson
MANAGER OF ENGINEERING


Mr. Sorensen comes to the Gilead Team from Freeborn Mower Cooperative Services in Minnesota, where he was the Director of Engineering Projects specializing in the areas of conservation and renewable energy. He has extensive knowledge of the many facetsof the utilities industry and an entrepreneurial, community oriented spirit. Mr. Sorensen is accountable for all aspects of engineering. At Gilead he works with consultants, contractors and suppliers to design and construct Gilead's power projects. Mr. Sorensen earned a Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tulsa and has a Business Administration Diploma from Algonquin College.
